A radio scanner tunes into aircraft-to-control tower communications and broadcasts the news to ACMI. The viewer becomes part of the commotion of Melbourne Airport. Since I often investigate radio space, air space and air travel, it seemed logical to me to settle on the non-existent place where they all meet: an invisible radio frequency. ACARS is a protocol to speak of things such as weather patterns, equipment performance, flight plans and occasional personal messages. A small sliver of the AM band is congested with a multitude of voices.

However, only general data can be publicly disseminated in a gallery. Real life is cropped out, much in the same way that pictures are cropped in travel brochures.
